| It would be safe to say that Rebecca enjoys animals. She consults professionally as an animal trainer and behaviorist for institutions and individuals around the world. At home in California her three small parrots, two Brittany spaniels, peregrine falcon and flock of pigeons keep her training skills honed and keep her entertained. Even the area outside her house is teeming with life. A nest of redtails and a nest of kestrels breed simultaneously on her street every spring. Living in a pass that's a natural funnel on the Pacific flyway, the migration always brings interesting visitors in the Spring and Fall. All in all it's the perfect place for a writer that finds her inspiration in nature.
Having just finished her M.F.A. in creative writing, Rebecca is Director of Development for Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council as well as a freelance writer, writing and editing grants, copy, articles for magazines, books, and anything else that sounds fun and challenging. She has written nine books including: Falcon's Return, a romance novel; several young adult reference books; and a parrot owner's guide, A Parrot for Life. She of course, has several other book projects currently in the works.
Her falconry memoir, Lift, a book about the first season with her first peregrine falcon, Anakin and their adventures hunting near the Salton Sea was her Master's thesis and is forthcoming from Red Hen Press. It's a book about finding oneself and making ammends with the past while seeking freedom in the shadow of a peregrine. Currently she is working on a mystery novel.
Rebecca hopes that her life's work will somehow help people understand their connection to animals and the earth and to relish it. She is available for consulting and writing projects and always loves to hear from new friends.
